Each class style infuses time to become EDUCATED and PRACTICED in the TRAINABLE SKILLS OF YOGA including —
Meditation Made Easy — increase your confidence working with thoughts and managing focus while sitting in silence in order to transform stress and build brain resiliency.
Body Scanning — noticing, observing, and judgement-free thinking through the process of taking inventory for reference and measuring therapeutic effectiveness.
Introspection — learning how to connect the dots between what you feel, how you move, and how you respond on the mat, so that off the mat your able to discern and tend mindfully between effort and strain, activation and depletion and agitation and ease.
Interoception — your capacity to sense, interpret and respond to your body’s internal signals including quality of breath, heart rate, muscular tension, temperature, digestion and subtle nervous system shifts amplifying your sense of agengy with your body.
Self-Regulation — using your internal observations to make therapeutic choices that support balance, calm, resilience and healing. The art of attention, intention and listening to your body while applying potent practices that address your physical and emotional needs — while noticing the lingering, measurable resulting imprints of the practices and the embodied outcome of how time spent training these skills guides your future choices.
These classes are rooted in the SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES OF THERAPEUTIC MOVEMENT and DO NOT EMPHASIZE mastery or “advancement” of yoga poses or sequences. The principles, blended with beginner-level yoga philosophy, are weaved through each class. Your progress is measured by your own felt experience and by your curious presence for each class.
