A fully online, guided and customized 8-week program of yoga therapeutics, for women who want to address specific movement limitations in order to move better, feel stronger, and support their joints - without needing to be flexible, fit or experienced in yoga.  Enjoy beginner-accessible, therapeutically-informed expert instruction that addresses your unique movement and nervous system deficiencies from the comfort and convenience of your home, designed to empower your understanding of movement, build your yoga confidence and bring your body back to life.  Following a robust therapeutic intake evaluation, work with Joy over 8, 75-minute long, weekly 1-on-1 private online lessons supported by follow-along-at-home homework videos to maximize your understanding and results.   • You'll have access to some basic equipment to complete the exercises, namely: Internet access, a yoga blanket (or 2), 2 yoga blocks, a yoga strap, yoga bolster or dense, supportive cushion, 2 round therapy balls or tennis balls, a yoga mat with a sticky grip (not squishy support), a folding chair without arms and a full circle light to medium resistance band
     

  • Your homework videos are delivered through CoachRx, a mobile app, but it also works with most tablets and newer Macs.

I get it. But nothing could be further from the truth. 

I believe that your yoga practice should support you, no matter what is going on in your life — including physical limitations or pain. You don't have to show up in any particular way. You don't have to look or move in any particular way. Your body doesn't need to be anything other than what it is right now. And you'll be reassured when you see me demonstrating yoga movements with my own physical limitations — including two knee replacements embedded in scar tissue.

This program includes fundamental therapeutic practices that will directly address your areas of concern and, also, will familiarize and train you with the building blocks of good function around the hips and legs, neck and shoulders, and middle and low back including: awareness, range of motion, mobility, balance, stability, strength, ease and nervous system regulation.


I've worked with private yoga clients for over 8 years, and, as a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist — with further specialized training in human cadaver study — I have extensive knowledge of the body and how it moves, as well as a variety of healing movement modalities as a master meditation teacher and licensed massage therapist. So even if you show up with an injury, exhaustive stress, or what seems like a limitation, I know how to address it AND create a practice just for you and where you are right now.

    There’s a moment—sometimes subtle, sometimes unmistakable—when you realize your body isn’t the same as it once was. 


    As a former competitive athlete, I was accustomed to experiencing my body as strong, responsive, and capable of anything I demanded of it. But healing from years of wear, stress, and injury forced me to redefine what movement—and life—looked like. When your body no longer moves, feels, or responds the way it used to, it can feel like an identity shift. I know this intimately.
